Registration is now available for the MSU Intro to Tango series! This six-week course will provide a solid introduction to the basic elements, style, and movements of Argentine Tango. Connection, musicality, positive leader-follower dynamics, and basic tango vocabulary will be taught, with each lesson building on the previous. By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation upon which more advanced instruction and practice can be built, and should feel confident to explore social dance and intensive instructional opportunities in the community. Come join us and discover the magic that is Argentine Tango!
The class will meet in the Romney Gymnasium basketball court (on the third floor) from 6:10 to 7:40 pm on Tuesday nights from January 24th through February 28th.
To sign up, contact the ASMSU Recreational Sports & Fitness office at (406) 994-5000. Pre-registration is required. The cost is $45 for six 90-minute lessons. No partner or previous dance experience are necessary.
Please bring appropriate footwear to the class. For men, any slick-soled shoe will work, but for the best experience, bring a shoe with a leather or suede sole and at least a half-inch heel. Women should bring slick-soled shoes with a heel and an ankle strap. In the absence of appropriate footwear, socks or socks worn over the toes of street shoes will work. Please do not plan to dance in unprotected street shoes or bare feet.
Class attendees are encouraged to join us on Wednesday evenings at Montana Ballet Company for an opportunity to further practice their skills.
